Introduction to Recording

This two-day intensive will cover the basics of the recording and mixing process from start to finish. Designed for people with little or no background in the recording field, the approach is simple, clear, practical and fun. Using Digidesign's Pro Tools recording system, we'll cover topics including, system setup, signal flow, recognizing connectors and cabling, microphone usage, mixing console usage, overdubbing and mixdown techniques. Each student will have an opportunity to have a hands-on role in completing a simple recording project.

Digital Music Production Workshop

In this class, we'll use our "Introduction to Recording" as a springboard into the world of Digital Music Production using Pro Tools as our format. The focus will be on how to integrate your creative ideas into the digital world by working on a standard Pro Tools system as well as explaining how it all relates to any other systems that you may be using. If you're a songwriter, Podcast producer, Jingle composer or a budding engineer, this is a class you won't want to miss!

Pro Tools Primer

Do you own or are thinking about purchasing a Pro Tools system and are filled with questions? In this 3 hour class, we'll discuss and demonstrate techniques and answer all of those questions to get you on your way to mastering Pro Tools, the industry standard in hard disk audio production. Topics covered will include, hardware options, demonstration of recording and editing features, mixing methods and more.

Pro Tools® One-on-One

This private class goes deep into operating Digidesign’s Pro Tools, the industry standard in hard disc, non-linear recording systems. We’ll discuss what digital recording is, and guide you in hours of hands-on training. We’ll cover the Pro Tools user interface, multitracking direct to Pro Tools, editing, mixing, basic computer troubleshooting, ADA converters and external sync. (Note: this class can be given in your own Pro Tools studio or at one of our class locations.)

Booked on a per session basis, depending on the personal needs of the client
Cost: $60 per hour

Home Studio Consultation

Let us come to you! We can cater to whatever your specific studio needs are, including studio design and set-up, equipment purchasing consultation, recording techniques, or simply optimizing your gear in the space available and cleaning up that tangle of cables!

Cost: $65 per hour

All course rates include lots of snacks and a great cup of coffee!
